Fragments of Florals

As the Summer season draws to a close and if we had to pick one word to summarise it all, it would be ‘Florals’. Ditsy and girly, tea time and pretty, the death of florals as they exist now would not be a sorry one.

That was until Topshop started to abstract the regularity of an innocent sweet print with their launch of Day of the Dead.

Flowers are here to stay but are making bigger, bolder statements in geometric and irregular forms. No longer ornamental but we’ll now see one floral element dominating dresses, tops and accessories.

So let’s not be hasty to kiss this trend goodbye too soon, it’s not shying away quietly. It’ll be back next Summer re-vamped with a harder edge.
